Transnave – MPV Isla Bartolomé

Western Marine Shipyard (Hull WMShL-55) received an order for a multi-purpose cargo vessel for Transnave, an Ecuadorian Navy company. This project was completed in 2015 and was inaugurated by President Rafael Correa of Equador. “[Isla Bartolomé] will serve thousands of merchants in the islands and of course to all its inhabitants,” said President Correa. He has also praised the high quality of the Bangladeshi made ship mentioning it will play a vital role in their economy. This export deal has been remarked as the very first trade between the two countries.
