Shipbuilding would be impossible without slipways, they are essential in placing vessels in the water after completion. Therefore, Western Marine Shipyard has five slipways throughout the mouth of the yard. Primarily, the Shipyard implements an airbag slipway process in order to launch vessels, however, the slipways also have rail-track launching capabilities, which can also be used.
