Western Marine Shipyard received another shipbuilding work-order from UAE

The leading Shipbuilder of Bangladesh Western Marine Shipyard Ltd to build another ship for Al-Rashid Shipping Ltd of UAE. Mr. Sakhawat Hossain Managing of Western Marine & Mr. Ahmed Al Marzuki of AL Rashid Shipping signed the contract for building on Anchor Handling Tugboat (AHTS) on behalf of their respective organizations on 04 Oct 2018.

This tug will be 67.00 Meter in length, 16.80 Meter in breadth, 6.30 Meter in depth & will be built under International class Bureau Veritas. Main Engine, other machinery & equipments of this tugboat will be imported from Europe & Japan; and she will operate in the Arabian Sea.

Last year November Western Marine built & delivered one Landing Craft namely “Ajman Trans” to the same buyer Al Rashid Shipping Ltd. That was the first vessel exported to UAE from Bangladesh & it was the 40th ship to be exported from Bangladesh.  To be mentioned Western Marine currently building total 38 ships for foreign buyers & for domestic use as well.

Western Marine is also at the final stage of securing some other foreign orders from UAE which include tankers & some specialized vessels. The shipbuilding entrepreneurs are hopeful that they can secure a major portion of UAE’s shipbuilding market once these orders are secured.
